Sometimes the hardest part is just finding out if your kid is being bullied.

Sometimes the hardest part is just finding out if your kid is being bullied.

Talking about being bullied is so hard for a kid. It is humiliating, you never know how your parents will react and it can be very hard for a bullied kid to talk to their parents.

If you are worried that your kid might be experiencing a bully at school, sports or wherever….here is a good conversation starter.

“I know that school can be tough, and sometimes kids are thoughtless and even downright mean. If anything comes up, I hope you talk to me. I am always here to listen, and there’s a chance I might have something to offer.”

Just float that out there and wait! Bid your time and let them come to you. You might have to say it a few times before it will really sink in.
